Rock Climbing

Germany’s rugged terrain accords unlimited spots for climbing. While the north is mostly flatlands, southern Bavaria is home to the Alps, making it a haven for climbers, there’s also other mountainous ascents favoured by climbers, such as the Rhine-Main and Black Forest regions.

It’s best to go in the summer season so you can enjoy lush rural Germany in all of its glory. Climbing in the winter would be uncomfortable for all but the most intrepid.

Whether you’re doing it for sport, leisure or just seeing how far you can push yourself, there’s somewhere to do it in Germany.
