Introduction to Multi Pitch Climbing

Itinerary / Highlights

Day 1:
Arrival and orientation & introduction to the course and (if time) some playing on boulders.

Day 2 (Fongarnide):
Top roping, seconding and leading (single pitch). This 35 metre limestone crag offers steep and varied routes. Starting at an easier level gives access to high routes whilst staying well within your comfort zone.

Day 3 (Mazet Plage):
Introduction to multi-pitch climbing. This site is in the gorges of the Chassezac river has routes of up to 45m in height, perfect for learning the techniques associated with multi-pitch climbing. Today we will focus on skills and ropework.

Day 4 (Ardeche gorge):
The ‘Grande Voie'. The gorge walls of the Ardeche are up to 250m in height. Today we will put together the skills, tecniques and confidence gained over the weekend to take on one of France's finest ‘Grande Voies' & a magnificent multi-pitch route. Two instructors will accompany you to the pinnacle of your weekend's achievements.
