Trip Highlights
La Source is a 5* eco-chalet that runs life-enhancing ski, adventure sports and yoga holidays in one of the most stunning valleys in the French Alps. The co-founder, Duncan McCallum, TV presenter for the BBC's Adventure Show is an ex-professional climber. Saskia Anley is an ex-Outward Bound Instructor (USA and South Africa) and award winning adventure sports film maker. La Source climbing holidays and camps run in May, June, July, August , September and October. They are perfect for couples and solo travellers who will be in good company and will have climbing partners 'on tap!' The La Source Rock Climbing weeks are gaining a firm reputation for providing expert instruction and experience for climbers at all levels (from total beginners up to those leading 7a). The approach here is concerned with fluidity, balance and fun. Moving over stone, not fighting against the rock is the key, to help with this concept; optional morning yoga classes are an idea warm up to the day on the crag. If you want to improve your rock climbing this is the place to come. Under the careful watch of our chosen instructors you will enjoy real progress on the rock. During the week you will gain focus, balance and mental and physical strength. You’ll be staying in a designer sustainable, low energy renovated farm, eating balanced organic vegetarian food. Your hosts are TV presenter and ex-pro climber Duncan McCallum and yogini and personal development coach, Saskia Anley. You’ll spend 5 full days rock climbing at different crags; learning how to improve your climbing, technical and rope skills. There is one rest day where you can take advantage of the hiking, white water rafting, parapenting or simply rest! We split our camps into an advanced and a beginner’s to leading camp. They run simultaneously and we have a coach/instructor for each group. Who is it for? For people who love sport/trad climbing and want to improve their technique and leading skills.
For indoor climbers who want to start climbing on real rock.
For complete beginners who like the sound of staying in an eco-lodge, learning a new sport and spending the week outdoors in the Alps
For couples with one climber and one non-climber (see the Summer Holiday for non-climbers)
For people climbing up to 7a who want a reliable and compatible climbing partner during their week off. Trad/Natural gear instruction is available by arrangement during the week. La Source was described as the top 'eco-lodge in the Alps' by the Sunday Times. It is an eco and low energy farm conversion and the atmosphere and energy of the place draws its clients back again and again! Samoens is 1 hour from Geneva. It is a stunning historic, market village on the edge of the Grand Massif ski area and one of the largest and most spectacular Nature Reserves in France. The limestone crags are excellent and famous for the long multi-pitch routes - a favourite with Chamonix guides. The area has everything on its door step.. from beautiful walks, to swimming lakes, high ropes course, Via Ferratta, horse riding, mountain biking, bustling French market etc..Price Details
